Women In Business Orange County (WIB) is a dynamic, multifaceted organization comprised of influential, successful women from the corporate and entrepreneurial communities.
We represent such diverse areas as business, academia, politics, government, sports, medicine, and science. WIB members network with others in and out of their respective fields and have attained a high level of responsibility and accomplishment in their business and professional lives.
Our members have demonstrated a serious dedication to their success. WIB members focus on supporting each other by promoting the professional and personal development, growth and visibility of all women.
How WIB Was Started
In 1974, as an outgrowth of a UCLA extension seminar called "Women, Work and Power," a small group of women met informally to share concepts, mutual concerns and achievements.
As mutually supportive relationships increased, so did the group's size. WIB was officially incorporated in 1976. In 1981, WIB International was incorporated as the umbrella organization for all chapters. New WIB chapters are forming on a global basis.
